What are the waiting periods?
- 6 months for natural causes
- Immediate cover after receipt of 1 st premium – unnatural causes
- 3 months [natural causes] if you activate your policy by redeeming your CashBack in November 2008
- Immediate cover [natural causes] if you redeem your CashBack and pay your annual premium in advance in November 2008 or if you pay your annual premium in advance [November 2008] by EFT

- No, the benefits are available immediately after the first premium has been received by KGA

- No, there are no medical requirements and no illnesses are excluded

- The only exclusion that exists is for suicide, which is excluded for a period of 24 months
Can I cover my grandchildren / foster children under my policy?
- No, cover is extended to the member / spouse’s biological children and legally adopted children only.
How long does it take for my claim to be paid and is it a complicated process?
- KGA prides itself on the fact that all valid claims are paid within 24 hours, directly into the next of kin’s bank account. Our process is uncomplicated and our staff are adept at assisting you with the claims process
Define “accidental death”
- “To insure the insured against the event of bodily injury caused by violent, accidental, external and visible means which leads to the death of the insured within 6 (SIX) months of the happening of such event. The accident must be the sole cause, independent from any other cause, of the death of the insured.
- In support of this, there must be at least the following two [2] chains of causation:
- The death must be caused by the bodily injury,
- The bodily injury must be caused by an accident.
What exclusions are there regarding “accidental death” benefits
- The following exclusions will apply:
- Air travel except as a passenger
- Suicide or intentional self-injury
- Influence of alcohol, drugs or any related narcotics
- War
- Deliberate exposure to exceptional danger or criminal acts
- Professional sport
- Nuclear risks
- Acts of terrorism
- Pre-existing medical conditions
If I have chosen Plan A and I pass away as a result of an accident, what benefits will be paid out to my beneficiary?
- R5 000 funeral cover +
- R10 000 accidental death benefits +
- Family can contact KGA Assist to help with the funeral arrangements and repatriation of the body to the funeral parlour closest to the place of burial anywhere within RSA
Can I buy this benefit without CashBack?
- Yes. You can pay for the Lifestyle Plan by monthly debit order or cash upfront. If you elect to go this route the normal waiting period as listed in 2 will apply.
