We are a company from humble beginnings and we gladly share our story with you. In May 1986, Cape Group Scheme Advisors (Pty) Ltd was established as an insurance brokerage. We were a small group of hardworking people managing pension funds and providing financial services to these members.
After successfully creating a voluntary funeral scheme for members of a church institution, we were approached by a leading insurer to undertake their group funeral scheme administration. This resulted in the establishment of the first funeral insurance administrator in South Africa.
The years of valuable experience and the ability to settle claims within 24 hours gave us an advantage in the market and led us to register as an insurance company. KGA Life Limited opened its doors on 1 January 1999. Our name, KGA, comes from the Afrikaans version of our old company name: Kaapse Groepskema Adviseurs.
